sprinters... help!

Date: September 22, 2007 10:45PM Ok, im a distance swimmer, but on my high school team they want me in the freestyle relays, and i really cant sprint....but we're trying to make it to states.. which would mean i have to drop time! how can i improve my sprints?
also, i dont kick because it messes up my freestyle pase i have...:-/ Re: sprinters... help!

Date: September 30, 2007 12:15AM oh that's a toughy, As a distance swimmer you should maybe go in the warmup pool for about a thousand meters before your race that way you are warmed up and the sprint you do feels like the end of your race, which you would sprint at the end of anyways.

Date: October 15, 2007 10:40PM when your sprinting you have to make every stroke count,and make sure you dont take a lot of breathes.
in sprinting its not the fastest swimmer that wins its the one that wants it the most. hope it helped.. =) Re: sprinters... help!

tips my coach gave me because i am also a distance swimmer: Hips high fast kick high stroke rate half your rotation just my thoguhts Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
