Date: January 25, 2008 02:41AM Hey Everyone, I wanted to get some other swimmers inputs. I am currently a freshman in college and have been swimming year round since I was nine. I lived and breathed swimming all through high school and it was my life. Never did I think that I would quit swimming after my freshman year of college. I know longer love swimming and I can't continue to keep doing it. I will be giving up my scholarship next year AND will be transferring to school closer to home. I guess what I want to know is and I making one of the worst decisions of my life. I don't want to continue to do this but what if I miss it or I am miserable. I have my conference meet in three weeks and want to go out on a bang, just like everyone does when they are giving up something they love to do. My question is how do I get through this last three weeks and enjoy it and go out on a bang and what is your guys opinion on my decision to hang up swimming. I would love any opinions or feedback. Date: January 29, 2008 12:48AM I quit about a year and a half ago and It is just starting to hit me how much I really loved it..... these past couple days I've just wanted to go up to the pool and swim my heart out, but I dont have the guts to go back up there...I don't know why....
I'm not trying to discourage you in anyway.... Just remember why you loved swimming and try to imagine how different your life will be with out it.... just have fun the last three weeks and make it memorable Ashley Re: feedback please?

Date: January 29, 2008 11:44AM i quit for about 6 months after reaching second at nationals. so i started back up again. it took me ages to get up my fitness again but it was definetly worth it! swimming becomes part of you for after a while and no matter what you think it will be like when you quit, you have no idea how much it is part of you until you have lost it. as Joni Mitchell once sang "you dont know what you got till its gone".
but this is your decision so thats just my input. as itsallswimming2me said just have fun a really put in a big effort if you are gonna quit because thats the last real swimming you will do, so just go for it. let us know how your conference meets goes. Desire + Dedication + Direction = Determined Destiny Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
